Will frowns and pads down the hall, the haze of sleep slipping the idea of maybe putting a shirt on before he answers the door to god-knows-who from his mind, and twists the slightly-loose fake gold doorknob to open to the outside of the apartment.
Any lingering tendrils of sleep shoot from his body as he meets eyes with his unannounced visitor.
There in front of him, pink-cheeked from the brisk early morning, face as shifty as the day he last saw it 7 years ago, is Mike Wheeler.
“Oh. I sort of thought you’d be asleep. Sorry … I took a red-eye flight.”
