It was dark on the night that Ren’s life changed.

Kurusu doesn’t exactly look surprised to see her, looking up from where they were messing with their phone.
Both are silent, the room filled with soft noises from the television hanging in the corner, but Kurusu is the first to break.
“Cute outfit,” they comment. Neutral. Calm. “Is it new?”

Summary
So was Akira in an ideal or impressive position in life? No, but that’s also not what he wanted right now. All he wanted was simple jobs, that kept his mind running until his legs went numb and maybe a few drinks in the evening, to let that feeling spread.
Nothing wrong with that.
Just cause all of his friends were able to immediately keep moving, doesn’t mean he was forced to do the same. He was allowed time to sort himself out. He'd gone to juvie for god’s sake.

Summary
The first thing Ryuji was aware of was the cold touch of wet grass pressed to his face. The scent of it, coupled with the flavor of dirt and salt on his tongue.
He was freezing.
He moaned and rolled himself over onto his back. He could barely breathe, his heart pounding like a mallet swinging against his ribs. He blinked through hazy wet eyes, struggling to focus on anything. Above him was the gray dark haze of city lights on a blanket of cloud cover. His ears rang, a piercing shrill that blocked any other sounds that could be around him.
His first coherent thought was, Wow. I’m not dead.” But he couldn’t quite piece together why he was so certain he should be. He honestly was more than happy to just lay there, find his breath again (why was he so short of breath?) and wait for someone to find him (where were the others? Where was he?).
And then the pain hit.

Summary
Akechi receives a series of frantic texts from Sumire, all detailing a certain Ren Amamiya’s disappearance. The detective wishes he could claim that he has no idea where the idiotic leader of the Phantom Thieves had gone, but he, unfortunately, knows the other boy’s brain much too well for his own good. He infiltrates Maruki’s palace alone, knowing that’s where Ren had gone off to, probably on some hero’s mission on Akechi’s behalf. But as it would turn out, Ren’s stupidity had reached new lows, and if Akechi wanted his Ren back, he might have to go against his own principles.

AKA, Akechi begs Ren to kill him to end his attachment to Shido.

But the boy stops right at the seat in front of him, gives him a glance and a (gorgeous, mellow) smile before taking a seat before him. Now, his view is the back of Akechi's hair, and the slender shape of his back.
Oh no, he thinks.
How is he supposed to keep his new-found crush lowkey, now?

“God, why did I think it would be any fucking different when all they’ve done is drag away every opportunity from me?”
Goro dropped to the ground, eyes glazed over. God, he was so stupid. Why would he try to confront the director—did he think he was the main character? That things would work out for him like magic? When had life not fucked him over five ways to Friday?

Summary
At first only silence greets him. The sound of fabric shuffling. Perhaps Kurusu merely called accidentally in his sleep, and there's nothing to be concerned about. But then there's a sniff, and something that sounds like a quiet sob.
"Kurusu-kun?" he tries.
Silence. Then, a very soft and quiet, "...Yeah."
"Is everything alright?"
More silence. An even softer, "No."

Summary
He’d see a blouse here and a dress there, see heels just sitting in the corner and eyeliner applied swiftly by makeup artists, and Akira would want.
Of course, he’d shut that down as soon as he noticed it was happening. He couldn’t want such things—they were for girls, after all, and he was not a girl.
(Though some days he didn’t exactly feel like a boy either, but he never dwelled on that thought for long. It wasn’t worth the self reflection when he had hearts to change.)
Sometimes he wouldn’t hide his longing quick enough and someone would ask if he was alright. Akira would always smile and nod, his mask of indifference falling onto his face as easily as his Joker one did. Of course he was fine, why wouldn’t he be? He was Joker, leader of the Phantom Thieves. Of course he was fine.
Everyone would accept his answer, and his smile would fall once their backs were turned. Akira was fine. His longing meant nothing, so he showed it all in a box and shoved it as far down as it could go. He didn’t hate his clothes, he just…
It didn’t matter anyway.
