Quick sand.
Fluctuating quick sand.
That's the best April could describe it, being stuck in a fluctuating quicksand.
One moment it was solid under her feet, the next she was sinking, suffocating in the sand that filled her lungs and trapped her under its weight. Scratching her raw inside and out.
Sometimes, it felt like a warm embrace. Sometimes April feels the urge to go along with it.
April knew, one day it'll stop becoming solid. One day she'd sink and sink and she won't be able to find her way up again. One day that sand will pull her down and she would not surface again.
