Summary
Roger was tactile. And when he becomes HIV positive, he withdraws from everyone. Grief, despair, loneliness, and anger. It all coalesces into a mess that numbs and hurts and destroys him. And through it all, he thaws. Slowly. With love and touch.

Summary
It's not the first kind of love that he knows; he's loved many things and people and lost twice the amount, knows by now that he can either keep waiting for the spontaneous implosion or surrender to the possibility that nothing changes is not a worry but a comfort, that his only two options are to risk the blow up or press the button himself.
Roger's spent his whole life looking for a safe haven.
---
A memoir of sorts, following all the things and people Roger's loved and lost throughout his life. -

Summary
A selection from Mark Cohen's 1999 “Viva La Vie Bohem: the life of Mark Cohen” From the chapter “on April”
“I really did like her. They had shown me some songs they wrote for each other. April's lyrics were more flowery and metaphorical compared to Rogers raw rock despite her also writing rock music.
Roger mulled over his songs for weeks, months before showing anyone else, scribbling down words every spare second.
whereas April would do one pass and be done, performing for us that night only waiting for the ink to dry, he took her input on his songs seriously waiting until she deemed them done to show everyone else. I knew she had when one of the songs had a little heart doodled in the corner a sharp contrast to her polished handwriting.
I liked her. She was funny and smart and lively and, I realized, unstable.”(Or Marks “movie” somehow got popular enough that he writes a memoir about his life and you are reading a section of that)

Summary
I need to go.
I don’t want to die in the city that broke my heart.
I don’t have long left. I don’t want to die as a nobody in a draughty apartment on Avenue B.
Maybe if I get far enough away, I’ll find the inspiration to finish my song.
I’ve got to get out of here. Memories choke me in this place; there’s too much of Angel here.

So she ignored how he didn’t look at her anymore.
