Essek stepped into the lecture hall with 15 minutes to spare, and glanced around the room. There was already a decent amount of people filling the room, and most of his preferred seats had already been taken by the other early risers. One remained, next to a young man in a worn brown sweater and white button down. Essek sighed. He didn't prefer to sit next to strangers, but it seemed as if it could not be avoided if he wanted to get a good seat. He climbed the steps and slipped into the row, making his way to the seat. He saw the man tense, and frowned, before slipping into the seat and setting his bag on the floor next to him.
He turned to look at his observer and nearly dropped the pen still in his hand. The bluest eyes he had ever seen stared back at him, framed with long lashes and surrounded by a constellation of freckles. The man was gorgeous. -

He has perfect pitch, has been playing piano since he was 5 years old, and has never taken a day off. He made a promise to both himself and his mother that he will follow in the family's footsteps and become the most successful concert pianist he can, whatever the cost.
Caleb Widogast is a transfer student from Soltryce Conservatory with shoddy technical skills and a gift for music theory. As Essek meets Caleb and his friends, Essek discovers that not all competition has to be entirely unfriendly.

Caleb needed to fidget. Molly knew this. It was impossible not to notice, as Caleb was a heavy thinker and seemed to need something to do with his hands while he did it. It was fine when he was at a desk scribbling notes down or working on sigils and equations, but when he was simply reading or deep in thought his hands wandered for lack of anything to occupy them.
This proves to be Molly's downfall.
(tl;dr, Caleb unthinkingly grabs Molly's tail to fidget with and it gets very sexy from there.)
