Summary
Betrayal: twenty-year-old Bakugou Katsuki, number six on the pro-hero rankings, overhears a news announcement on TV that pro-hero Deku will be leaving to America for a year-long transfer, just as his idol, All Might, did before him.
Salt in the wound: a year later, Bakugou Katsuki learns through an off-hand comment from Kirishima that Deku's return to Japan is delayed, indefinitely.
A bitter victory: Bakugou Katsuki lands the number one spot in Japan in the third year Deku's gone.
One more stab through the heart: Midoriya Izuku returns to Japan after four years traveling the world; Bakugou Katsuki is left entirely in the dark.
Reconciliation is an entirely different beast from the villains Bakugou fights each day.
Change is a terrifying unknown for a man who's been away for four years.
And feelings? Love is the worst one of them all.

Bakugou snatches his phone off his bed, growling at the screen as he pulls up Midoriya’s number. He squeezes his eyes shut as he presses the phone to his ear harshly. It rings three times and Bakugou thinks he’s in the clear from talking to Midoriya, but then the line picks up.
“Kacchan?” Midoriya sounds confused, and Bakugou doesn’t blame him. He rarely calls the nerd, if ever. He can’t remember the last time he willingly did so.
“What the fuck did you get for six and seven?” Bakugou angrily plopped into his desk chair, flipping through his notebook.
“What did I - what?” Bakugou rolls his eyes.
“The math homework, you nerd.” Bakugou seethes out.
“U-Uh,” There’s shuffling in the background and Bakugou sighs impatiently. “Just a second.” Midoriya mumbles.
