Summary
When Tim had first started out as Robin and had begun to hang around Bruce and Dick more often than not, he had done some internet snooping. The Web was the greatest place for research. Pages upon pages of websites that were willing to give him insight into the complicated operations of the average family, all resting directly at his fingertips. Good ‘ol Wikihow telling him how the world worked.
He had learned new words and their definitions, about what behaviors siblings displayed with each other, the nitty-gritty details that made up a family unit.
And one subject that had come up repeatedly was the “Cain Instinct”.
TLDR: Tim does not know how to be anything other than an only child and looks to the internet for help, a decision that Jason suffers for.

Tommy let his hand ride the air as the car sped down the highway, head thrown back and laughing at some stupid joke Jack had made from the driver’s seat.
It was nice to get away from the noise of the city, the oppressive heat of the concrete jungle being washed away by the cool ocean breeze, and the burning sun felt like it was searing freckles to his cheeks rather than pouring sweat down his back.
The coast was nice, the beach was wonderful, and the ocean waves felt like coming home.
And Tommy got to spend the next month living it all.

Luke had framed him for his theft, Luke was ready to be a catalyst for a war. Luke was serving Kronos, the very root of Percy's torment, his nightmares.
The son of Hermes studies his gaze for a moment, before he turns back to the stone to slash what feels like the final indent into the ruin. The clearing is bathed in crimson, but the sounds of the fireworks are distant now as Percy's hands shake. The older half-blood, the one Percy had oh so idolized, raises his sword. Percy knows he is at a crossroads, two decisions offering themselves to him. He can do nothing, let Luke rip through the barrier and escape the camp with him. Or he can do what he's done for weeks now, the one thing that had gotten his father's attention. He can fight.
He looks at Luke and part of him cries brother while the other raises Riptide.
TLDR; Percy and Luke's encounter goes differently, and Percy finds himself as a harbinger of war.
