After Charlie and her friends' victory against the angelic army and Adam's death, the troubles are far from over. Over the course of two weeks after the battle ended, a new demon appeared in Hell. No one knows who he is, what he wants, or even his face: all that is known is that he goes around kidnapping overlords, killing anyone who gets between him and them, and that nothing and no one seems to be able to stop him because he possesses strength incomparable to any other sinner, so much that the media called him "Army of One". Charlie and her friends find themselves forced to look for this mysterious individual, in the hope of being able to stop him before he does serious damage to Pentagram City; but the reality is much more sinister than they imagine, and not only the future of their city could be at risk, but also the future of all of Hell... and maybe even more. And everything revolves around this mysterious man who has just arrived in Hell, whose hatred towards demons and the Morningstar family seems to be unstoppable

If there’s one good thing Vaggi can say about herself, it’s that she’s a supportive partner. She’s been by Charlie’s side throughout this whole hotel endeavor, even when she let Alastor and Pentious in despite Vaggi’s very valid protests. She slaughtered her own sisters for her girlfriend’s cause without a second thought. She even went to Heaven with her, despite every single cell in her body screaming at her not to. But as she sits next to Alastor while Charlie gives them a full PowerPoint presentation (complete with animated text and hand-drawn pictures) on why they should engage in platonic BDSM to improve their relationship, she feels an unfamiliar hesitance.

The Hazbin Hotel is in the grip of the holiday spirit, leaving its guests full of cheer and excitement. Though the other residents are reveling in the Sinsmas–or is it Christmas?–festivities, and Alastor finds that Lucifer has come down with a case of the holiday blues.
This is the first time in over a decade that Lucifer has celebrated the holiday season with his daughter, and he wants nothing more than for the festivities to be perfect. However, Lucifer’s reluctance to reveal certain secrets to his daughter has put a strain on his relationship with both Alastor and Charlie.
Sometimes hard truths must come out to mend what has been broken, something Alastor is determined to make Lucifer see before their first Sinsmas together is ruined beyond repair. He can only hope Lucifer sees the light before it is too late.

How could they pretend he was never there to begin with?
When Alastor goes missing after the battle, Lucifer goes looking for him. They argue and Lucifer leaves Alastor for dead. Now, he's struggling with the guilt of having his daughter's friend's blood on his hands.
Alastor is fine, really. Sometimes a mysterious figure comes and hurts him, but it's for his own good. He failed, and now he's reaping the consequences. It could be worse. He could be dead.
Charlie just wants to see her hotelier again. He was like a parental figure to her, and she's trying to move on, really, but why did he have to die and not her? She can't understand.
Or:
Lucifer looks for Alastor post-battle after Charlie let it slip that she made a deal with Alastor. He strips him of his powers and leaves Alastor there to die, and everyone assumes he's dead. Alastor is being held hostage by his soul owner for his failure, and believes that it's his fault he's being help captive. Charlie deals with survival guilt and grieving yet another person she considers family.
