As Somnivori manifest, feeding on fears, secrets from millennia past surface—threatening their essence. In frost and shadow, trust fights hunger that could consume them, altering belief and terror.

Summary
Guardians are sustained by Belief. The more Belief they have, the more power, the less they strictly need petty mortal things like food and rest. Jack, lacking the solid Belief bases of the rest of them, has to sleep regularly. Inconvenient, for a seasonal spirit used to going months at a time without rest, but the fastest way to regain the memories from his baby teeth is by dreaming through them, so that's alright.
Until, of course, it isn't.
