No one could ever guess what powers merging with a goddess could grant someone. Turning back the hands of time, once so difficult, became second nature to him. And he turned them back again and again, wanting to find a way to save them all.
Now Byleth has reached the end of his rope. He’s no longer going to play the role of the kind, sympathetic professor. He couldn’t save his father, but he’s determined to save the three of them, and every other student he came to care for during his time as a teacher.

‘I’m sorry about Dimitri.’ Byleth said, deciding that saying something would be better than saying nothing at all. While she didn’t doubt the war had forced Claude to be confronted with death on more than one occasion, Dimitri’s death in particular hit a little closer to home.
Claude could deny it all he wanted, but Byleth wasn’t a fool. She’d seen the glances they’d given each other during their time at the academy. The way Claude had teased and taunted in order to capture people’s attention, but a certain prince’s attention especially so.
The answer he gave her then didn’t surprise her one bit.
‘Whatever for?’ he asked, almost sounding a little bitter about it.
The way he avoided her gaze spoke volumes.
