Summary
Charmer had a tell. A tiny thing that Deacon had never mentioned to her. It wasn’t necessarily a ‘lying’ tell, it just showed that she was nervous. But Deacon noticed her doing it. That was the beginning of his creeping, hair-raising concern.

Summary
Deacon never really recovered from the trauma of his captivity and torture at the hands of the Brotherhood of Steel. He kept his game face on (he was good at that), but keeping away the nightmares and flashbacks was becoming increasingly difficult.
He had decisions to make.

Summary
She rounded the final corner into the courtyard, and there he was: a blue jacket folded over the edge of the statue, a familiar newsboy cap atop it, its seam busted at the bill. Below, propped against the marble pedestal, lay Drummer Boy. One hand pressed to Dogmeat’s back, the other clamped against his shoulder where the collarbone met the joint. Red seeped, vivid against pale skin, between his fingers.
“Shit,” Norah breathed, closing the distance. Her knees hit the flagstones with a crack as she knelt, pressing her hands over his own as if she could force the blood back inside him. “Drummer… it’s alright.”
“Ha-ah that’s… not the term I’d use,” he rasped, attempting a quivering smile, eyes darting toward the rooftops and broken windows behind her. His skin was three shades paler than normal, the shadows under his eyes deepened into hollows.
“I handled it,” she said, brushing the fringe from his forehead. “He’s gone, Drummer. I handled it.” She repeated it when his gaze finally met hers, a tether to reality.
Confusion clouded the gray of his eyes for a heartbeat before he nodded shakily. “I thought I heard two shots.”Series

Summary
While drunk, Nate tries to get handsy with Deacon (who is already married!) Deacon tries to think nothing of it and the jealous outburst his husband, Nic, unleashes. Nic cannot share this sentiment. As soon as the opportunity to *get everything over with* is presented, he takes it.
Immediately, the news of the sole survivor's passing spreads to those closest to Deacon and Nic. The shock of his action and its butterfly effect sends Nic into literal insanity, yet Deacon only stays barely suspicious of him until one fateful meeting by Hangman's Alley...
(This took two months to write. I originally began this for Deacon and I's two year anniversary (yes, this is how I celebrate!) Isn't this technically a yandere AU of my OC... oh my god, what have I done?! )
((ME AGAIN. revised this to get rid of my horrible grammar mistakes! sorry abt that!))

Summary
“Come back sooner rather than later,” Dez said. It was more of a tired request than a firm instruction. Another pang of guilt ran through Deacon. He wished she could rest. He patted her shoulder as he passed her.
“Will do, boss. Gonna check up on the Slog and a few others.” It wasn’t a lie. He would check on the Slog and a few others. It was just that ‘a few others’ included the vault girl. Desdemona nodded and took a drag from her cigarette. Deacon watched her shoulders relax just a bit. From his response or the cig, he didn’t know.

Summary
They keep telling him that kindness will get him nowhere, and Shaun wants so desperately to believe that they're wrong, despite everything that has happened.
The Institute had killed Danse, Deacon is threatening to expose him as a synth, the prisoner he had tried to save from the farm took a fucking bite out of his hand, and in the attempt to escape with his own life he had been forced to kill one of the hunters that pursed him.
He's a murderer now, just like everyone else in the Commonwealth.
But he still refuses to believe that the surface is beyond saving, that the people here deserve the fate they've been subjected to. So he'll keep trying to be the good person he claims to be. He'll keep building bridges even when they burn them down, he'll keep cutting off pieces of himself in offering, and he'll keep stretching himself as thin as possible until he tears apart at the seams.
Because he won't become cruel and unjust. Not until there's no other option left.

Summary
“You know... not all of them were like that.”
Deacon's brow lifts slightly at her change in tone, and he tilts his head, more curious than teasing. “Oh?”
Jerry hesitates, eyes flicking toward the cracked road ahead. “I had this coworker,” she says carefully, her voice lighter but not quite casual. “The one that read a lot.”
Deacon hums. “Ah. An intellectual.”
She smirks. “He thought he was. Quoted philosophy, smoked too much. Never explained the joke but always laughed first.”
There’s a beat of silence as Deacon’s eyes flick her way—brief, unreadable behind his glasses. His mouth twitches at the corners.
“Yeah?” he says, voice just a little too smooth. “Poor bastard… never stood a chance, did he?”
Jerry doesn’t look at him. But her smile lingers, subtle and real.
“Right person, wrong time, I think,” she murmurs, almost like it wasn’t meant for him to hear.
