NOTE:* This AU does not follow the official timeline and occurs after the 1st movie
After the betrayal incident, everyone, having lost hope and trust in Ali, turned their backs on him. Who could still trust someone who had once injured and betrayed his own comrades, right? Ali, feeling regretful and guilty, makes a wish, hoping that he could have another chance, a restart.
His wish got fulfilled, but in the wrong way…
Now trapped in the body of his alternate universe self where he was the hot-headed, strict head prefect and Alicia was the lazy and messy dork who flunked her exams and was often late for class, he has to find ways to go back to the original timeline while trying to preserve the timeline he now was trapped in, as one wrong decision could alter the timeline severely, or worse, destroy it.

The aftermath of the SATRIA Incident left MATA deeply shaken, but nothing wounded them deeply more than the loss of Alicia Kheng. Ever since the final confrontation against Cero in the SATRIA Dimension, where she sacrificed herself to save Ali and take Cero down, which led to her getting pulled into the dark abyss of null, she had stayed in a coma for weeks.
She laid dormant within the HQ infirmary, with the only person consistently visiting her being the boy she saved, Ali.
But one day, as Ali returned the IRIS, the gadget that brought him here, the gadget Alicia won during the Arena, something changed...
She was waking up...
... And yet...
She's different now...

“He's your friend,” the general states flatly and both he and Alicia make a face.
“Classmate,” they say at the same time.
The general sighs. “Classmate. Right. Answer my question.”
Alicia glares at him, and fuck her too he glares at her back. “Yes,” she bites her lips in distaste, glancing at the general but never breaking her glare towards him, “unfortunately.”
He scowls at her. She cooly shrugs it off.
Silence engulfs the briefing room for a solid moment, with Jenny and Uncle Bakar uncomfortably standing around.
The general breaks it with a deep, long sigh. He glances at the two glaring children (children who should not have been here at all, actually, legally), and silently thinks.
This is going to be a long evening.
In which resident Normal Guy™ Ali got IRIS, hacked into MATA's system and became non-union all while trying to stave off the adults from disturbing his (self-imposed) mission of figuring out the truth behind his mother's death.
