Summary
Will’s body is heavy as Mike drags him out of the quarry.
His lungs are burning and feel too small altogether, unable to hold any of the air he is trying to force into them. He can feel Will's hands slipping up his chest, the limp body sliding lower against his back. Mike hoists him up again, readjusting his grip. His nails dig into the other boys’ wrists a little tighter, breaking the soft and pale skin.
They are getting closer to the shore, Mike figures. His thoughts are sluggish, coming slow and hard to grasp. He only knows that he must get them out, the need to tend to Will growing, more urgent and all encompassing, entire body thrumming Will Will Will with every step he takes towards the bank.
The other boy is an increasingly grave weight on his back. Mike never wants to stop carrying it.

Originally this was just a dummy save file to see how long it took for a child to get taken away by this method. However, it took so long (About five in-game weeks) that Charles actually made a few friends along the way. And I got attached to him. So here is his story as it happened in-game, then after he gets taken away this fic will basically become fanfiction of fanfiction because I don't actually know how to get a neglected kid adopted by another family even though I looked in the household menu for Sims Not In World. He still shows up on the family tree, so he's not GONE gone. I think.

Doctor—Jeff—nodded and quietly slipped out the door.
Maybe-Doctor held out his hand. “Name’s Newt, Tommy,” the young man said with a grin. “I won’t overwhelm you with the nasty details just yet, but you’ve chosen an unfortunate world to lose your memory in."
