The trial missions for Project Mew are coming up, and according to Gary, Goh doesn't stand a chance of clearing them with the shape he's in. But Gary is oh-so-graciously willing to help, by... *checks notes*... turning Goh into a gym bro?!?
Stupid, stupid, stupid, Goh thought to himself on the plane back to Kanto. He was freaking out bad, bad enough that Ash noticed his fists clenched in his lap and his leg bouncing frantically as he stared out the window.
"Goh, you okay? You seem kinda agitated."
"Why'd I agree to it, Ash?!" Goh blurted. "Oh, this is a huge mistake. I bet he's gonna make me do a bajillion push-ups and he's gonna tell all of Project Mew when I can barely do one."
"Hey, you're gonna be just fine, Goh. Y'know you don't have to go through with this whole thing, right?"
"Of course I do, Ash. Gary'll never let me live it down."
