Shane almost spat out his beer in response, but ended up choking instead. He went into a coughing fit, catching Rozanov’s attention, who threw a glance and a smirk his way. Shane replied to that reaction with a scowl. This is just fucking great, isn't it? “What the fuck, Rose? He-He's not even gay!” he hissed.
“You don't know that! And, sometimes, you two look at each other in a way that makes me unsure whether you wanna kiss or kill the other. We all know you’ve tried the second option a few times. Have you tried the first?”

And then the room tilts. His vision narrows, red light smearing into pink and white streaks. Shane staggers. The beer slips from his fingers. It shatters, foam splashing his shoes, glass skittering away. His knees give out like someone kicked him, and his hands shoot forward to hold himself upright.
His left palm lands in broken glass, though he doesn't feel it. What he notices is the certainty that everyone sees, that they can smell him—something sour and wrong. His scent, despite patches and care, has turned exposed.
OR: What if we took the club scene from episode 4 and had Shane collapse from experiencing Omega Rejection Syndrome after seeing Ilya dancing with someone else?

Hunched over for the face off while avoiding the shameless eye contact, the Canadian Hockey star tries to not let his expression give away the fact his heart is racing at the proximity of the Boston Captain, memories of their last heated encounter plaguing his thoughts. Given the growing smirk on his opponent's face from the corner of his eye, he must be failing miserably for the other to have some suspicions, despite the already forming denials coating his tongue.
He can try to lie to Rozonov, try to downplay his poor poker face that the Russian may or may not buy. If luck were on his side, he might even have a good shot to make it out of this game with a win and at least some of his dignity intact.

Ilya, with some girl grinding against him on the dance floor, hips grinding in a way Shane knows too well, hands roaming all over her like he’s making a claim. And she’s not pulling back. She’s laughing into his neck, bucking back like she wants him to eat her alive. The lights glint on Ilya’s skin, on the angle of his throat, on the swell of the muscles Shane’s seen a thousand times on the ice, and next to him on the damn couch, not to mention wrapped around him when they fuck. It’s like he’s watching something private even though it’s right there for all to see.

He couldn’t take it anymore. He broke eye contact with Ilya, and pushed off from the wall, picking his way through the crowd, half panicking. Everything was overwhelming, too much, so he felt like he could crawl out of his skin and it wouldn’t be enough.
Finally, after pushing past the packed bar, he found a single stall bathroom at the end of a hallway, also filled with people talking and laughing, drinks in their hand, yelling over the music that Shane could feel in his bones.
Or, Shane and Ilya don't run away from each other at the club, but towards each other instead.

Rozanov, to his credit, took the words like the blow they were. His eyes widened, then he covered his face with his palms and muttered something in Russian.
