Summary
Several years have passed since Yuma Tsukumo's victory over Don Thousand and the restoration of balance between Astral World and Barian World. Now a young adult attending university in Heartland City, Yuma leads a seemingly normal life. However, his peaceful existence is disrupted when mysterious occurrences begin to threaten not only Earth but also Astral World and Barian World. Kaito stared down in disbelief at the small black bundle nestled between Mizael’s arms, watching its little head pop up from where it hid its muzzle against Mizael’s chest and let out a series of small, happy squeaks up at him.
It was as if Mizael’s Tachyon Dragon had been shrunken down to the size of one of the small litter bots. Or like the time tyrant got caught in their own spell and reverted to a younger form given the wide orange eyes, the quiet, high pitched noises, and the tiny wings.
Kaito blinks like it’ll change any moment now into something else. Something more believable.

Zexal spoilers throughout
Living with the guy he inadvertently previously killed didn't help Mizael make sense of himself nor his new life. At least, he wouldn't have thought so originally, but he's not the only one in need of clarity - clarity that only the two Dragon Tamers could offer each other, once they figure out the words.

Maybe some wounded sense of pride couldn’t let the others see him like this, but he knew the truth behind his selfishness.
