Takes place after The Death Cure.
Thomas and Newt's fight never ended in death and instead Thomas was able to tie him up like they did Ben in the first movie and make a leash-like harness to keep him in line. A makeshift muzzle was also made, tape wouldn't do it or else he'd suffocate on the sludge. Thomas escaped with everyone else (minus Theresa) but Thomas was given an ultimatum. He could stay with everyone at the safe haven but he'd have to let go of Newt. Desperate that there was a way to help his friend still, they dropped him off with supplies to survive and they went to the safe haven. Minho, Brenda, and Gally wanted to help Thomas but they also had a whole safe haven of new Greenies to take care of. They trusted in Thomas' abilities.

WICKED has stepped up to lead the fight for the Cure, but it’s been years, over a decade. And secretly they have been using supposedly immune children in order to find that cure.
Is there a chance for a cure? Is there a chance for what used to be immune children to realize what is actually happening? Is there any way to stop all this death, this Flare, these trials? A different take on the Maze Runner where the children underwent more trials for longer times, while WICKED still claims to be humanity’s savior and the (not so much) children fight for their own world where they never once got a say before.
Expect different characters; different events; more Mazes (5 in total); a mix of movie and books; science-y stuff; a love triangle with a gay endgame; new original characters (ask to include some of your own too!); different relationships (any favorite ones or unique ones out there?); and hopefully some good, old fashion things from the beloved original work!
