“Oh, but it is.” Midorima rested his hands on the railing as they reached the summit of the bow of the ship. “It’s unseemly, in fact. All beauty and grace of the riche has died long ago. All that’s left are deals, gossip and wine.”
“That does indeed sound like a shame for Britain’s fairest class of men.” Takao smiled with understanding, crossing his forearms on the railing. “But in that case, through finding me, you might consider this night rather lucky, might you not, sir? If, as you say, escape is what you seek?”
(Aka it is 1908 and Shintaro Midorima, the twenty-year-old son of a prominent British noble is crossing the Atlantic to marry the daughter of a successful American entrepreneur. He believes his fate to be sealed, but the ocean liner by which he travels offers him a most unusual meeting with Kazunari Takao, a man of the working class. He is not aware of how the new acquaintance is about to change his life.)

Newt's on his way back to London, the ocean liner has taken off, its smooth sailing. He can stay in his cabin with his notes and creatures and not be bothered by anyone else on board. It's going to be a long three weeks but he doesn't mind the alone time with his beloved creatures, especially after their trip to New York, they could all use a bit of silence. And silence they get.
Until a knock on his door wakes him one night, some time after twilight, and he comes across a shock of his life.

This is one of (at this time) three stories I've written since 2013. A prequel, a main, and a yet-to-be finished sequel following the ship's point of view, starting from the creation of the famed Titanic and her sister, Olympic, in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to the Great War, and what happens after. It's not 100% historically accurate by any means, but does have some special facts sprinkled throughout. "Titanic's Forgotten Sister" focuses on the life of RMS Olympic before - and following - the tragic death of her sister, Titanic, in April of 1912.

A re-telling of the Titanic saga, with both historical facts and elements of the 1997 James Cameron film. The main focus of the story is William Murdoch. Cameron owns Jack & Rose, I'm just taking them out to play for a while and fix some things I didn't love about the film (But I still do love it! One of my favourites!) We'll begin much earlier than Titanic though. and see how William might have come to meet his wife and what their life may have been like prior to that fateful voyage...
