Summary
All it took was Percy turning back to help Cassandra when she fell that the entire story changes. This story will go through his backstory leading to his appearance in the Vox Machina comics. I'm only up to S1E40 in the streaming series, but I've watched the cartoon through multiple times, so expect a mixture of both versions of the character to be seen.
Plus, you know, he now prefers blood over wine.

Cass was so distracted that she hadn’t even noticed him approaching behind them with a sword in his hand. The sword clattered to the ground, skidding across and to the jail bars where a hand reached through.
The hand had blackened fingertips with long sharp nails. He grabbed the sword and pulled it through the bars.
She saw the movement of him waving a hand, the door clicking open. It swung outwards on its own, and the figure stepped out.
The prisoner turned and raised his head, looking at them all.
And Cass felt the world stop.
Percival De Rolo the Third was looking back at her.

Vex slowly draws her bow as she hears the sound of quick and uneven footfalls far off on dry forest floor.
She sees the creature she’s hunting at a distance. It’s dark enough that the world is melting into darkvision monochrome, but she can see that the monster wears a coat, that it’s in a terrible hurry, and that it’s limping.
Vampires generally aren’t known for holding onto wounds. It was injured in the last minute or so—Vex isn’t the only one after the bounty.
Vex nocks a holy arrow. She should take it out quick, one shot, so she doesn’t need to rush in with a silver dagger and make things messy. She’s so much better with a bow.

It was supposed to be a peaceful dinner with two guests from Wildemount, Lord and Lady Briarwood. But tragedy strikes in Castle de Rolo that leaves 16 year old Percival de Rolo and 13 year old Cassandra de Rolo without their family after witnessing their brutal massacre.
Tortured and abused at the hand of Anna Ripley, Percival fights to stay alive. Even that proves futile though, as Cassandra and Percival make a run for freedom and end up…. Well “dead.”
6 years later, Vox Machina are invited to Sovereign Uriel’s castle in Emon for a celebratory feast with dignitaries from all over Tal’Dorei after they’ve defeated the blue dragon Brimscythe. For the first time in these past 6 years, the Lord and Lady of Wildemount and Whitestone show their face. And for the first time in 6 years, Percival de Rolo III is seen by many.******

Sylas’ grin widens as Percy’s struggling grows weaker. He runs his tongue over the appearing points of his fangs.
