Now don't get him wrong, Sidious usually accounted for a great many things.
Potentially causing the end of the galaxy with a highly dangerous bioweapon? Yes, precautions taken.
Grievous or Dooku possibly getting tossed into the vacuum of space before the end of the war? Not ideal, but he could adapt somehow.
Windu and Skywalker somehow becoming the closest friends...ever? force forbid that should play out or he may be doomed...
Skywalker taking interest in and later marrying Senator Amidala? Yes, perfectly in the plans.
Should work out just fine.

To be honest, it took Obi-Wan several months to realize that he had become his professors' sugar baby, for the simple reason that he did not need money or gifts, he just enjoyed the outings he was included in or the one-on-one evenings.
And when he did realize it, he did not want to stop everything, because that would mean losing them all, and he did not want that.
Now, this left him in a delicate position: maintain the status quo and do everything he could to never go into sexual territory so that they would not discover his little peculiarity.

Summary
In a battle that shouldn’t have happened in the first place, Obi Wan and the full might of the Open Circle Fleet was caught in the aftermath of an entire planetary system being wiped from the galaxy. He was supposed to be on campaign the Chancellor sent him on, instead Obi Wan finds himself and his fleet in the exact place he needs to be… just in a different time. In his attempts to reestablish communications with the Republic, he unfortunately is received by the Empire… under Crown Prince Luke Skywalker.
Things are dire: The outer rim is under mercies of an extra-galactic threat, an ancient horror from ages past re-emerges to lead the destruction of everything that is to be, and the galaxy is under the iron fist of Obi Wan’s old apprentice - who seems to be okay with sacrificing billions to ‘protect’ his children.

Padme watched as he took off again down the long hallway, his boots clicking against the marble floor. She shook her head in dismay as he cleared the final shield with time to spare. But she was surprised when his reaction to accomplishing his goal was so subdue, he had his back to her and was staring at the pit in the middle of the room.
“He failed,” Anakin said.
Padme could barely hear him over the cycling laser walls. “What are you talking about?”
“He could’ve made it had he really tried.” Anakin continued. “He just let him die.”
“Ani, you know that’s not true.” Padme quickly said.
Anakin turned around and began the slow journey back towards her.
“Fine, maybe he did really try, all that means he was a failure.” Anakin conceded. “But I would’ve saved him.”

Anakin is still angry about the Rako Hardeen mission and brings Padme down to the reactor room to see if he could beat the plasma shields.
