Summary
Michikatsu and Yoriichi have to deal with their abusive father. Their father believes that twins are bad omens but his wife forbids him to kill them. Their father listens but instead of killing them, he puts cruel favoritism. He twists her protection into something wicked. Her husband's relentless behaviour wears her down physically and mentally until the emotional toll takes her life.
After the death of his wife, their father starts to drink and spiral in rage. This causes more harm and he becomes more violent towards the twins. With no one to shield them, Michikatsu and Yoriichi can only depend and protect each other from their father's wrath as they try to live their life.
