Summary
As a child, Robbie Rotten was bullied and abused by his family (his father; his mother died when he was born). Because of the abuse, Robbie became very intimidated and began to be afraid of everything and everyone, fearing that they would hurt him. He grew up with the thought that he would always be a burden. He unconsciously hates kids, because deep down he is just broken by the fact that they get to have a childhood he will never ever have.
When Sportacus came to town, everything changed. Some strange feeling changed Robbie.

When Sportacus woke up that morning, he instantly knew something was wrong. For one, he didn’t feel the urge to immediately flip out of bed. His limbs felt leaden and achy, an unfamiliar sensation that he really didn’t appreciate. Secondly, when he turned his head to look at his alarm clock on the bedside table, it didn’t read 8:08. It read 9:34. He had slept in. That was unheard of for him. Elves were creatures of habit, so to break that, something had to be wrong.
Sportacus carefully sat up, trying to assess his condition. Soreness that didn’t feel like a pleasant burn after exercise. Pounding head. Stuffy nose. Oh. Surely not. Surely he wasn’t sick. He was Sportacus! He was Lazytown’s slightly-above-average hero! He was the pinnacle of physical fitness! There was no way he was sick.
Sportacus gets sick and tries to brush it off. Robbie won't let him.

Robbie was mindful to keep his distance, like they always did on these social gatherings. However, with each one it became harder and harder. Especially when the local moms just would not get the hint and leave the poor hero alone. And yes, Robbie also couldn’t get a hint, and yes, he was being a huge hypocrite about it, but no, he did not care. No one had the right to try to chat up his boyfriend while the villain was standing in the same room.

Both of their heads snapped towards the chorus of voices, jumping away from each other as if they had been burned. The source of the commotion were of course the kids, huddled around the camera as if waiting for the perfect moment to snap a picture of a kiss.

Robbie Rotten has been having a hard time recently, things just aren’t like they used to be. He feels no motivation to do anything, not even cause mischief in Lazytown. So instead of just staying in his lair feeling bad about himself, he decides to take a walk into town.
Sportacus is having a hard time sleeping, and realizes that a certain person hasn’t been around. In fact he hasn’t seen him in almost a week! Worried for Robbie, Sportacus decides to stop by to try to help. Sportacus finds Robbie sitting alone in the park, crying?
When it starts to pour rain, it becomes clear that things aren’t what they seem. Information is shared, feelings are questioned, and everything seems to change.
