Summary

Summary

Summary
As the final battle with Kibutsuji ends peace restores in a world without demons. And as the demon slayer corps disbands the two remaining hashira retire. They must now pay the price for manifesting the mark and will die by the age of 25.
With the remaining years left of his life, Sanemi locks himself up in his estate, expecting to spend the rest of him time there in his estate. That changes though when the year before his 25 birthday, Giyuu decides to start making frequent visits. Which ultimately ruins Sanemi’s plans to spend the rest of his life without making any new connections.

Summary
The last thing Giyū saw was the horrible creature known as Muzan crawling away to another part of their quickly crumbling world, taking the hashira who could still fight with him, and the bodies of those who no longer couldn't, behind him. Giyū was the latter, trying to stand up even through the sea of blood at his feet. He was dying.
Why was this happening? Wasn't the slayer mark supposed to boost his survival?
Turns out, it did. Maybe a little too well.
Fate had once again chosen the wrong person to save, Giyū thought, back in his thirteen year old body, staring at his dead childhood friend right in the face. Tanjiro would have been so much better at time travel.

Summary
Times like this, quiet moments at the edge of evening, Genya's absence was like a rock sitting on his chest, choking all air. There was an almost self-flagellating pleasure in staying in Genya's room, in such proximity to where he'd spent his life. Not dissimilar to the stinging satisfaction he used to feel when slicing into his own skin during a fight to use his marechi.
Now, there was no comfort in the heavy realization of all he'd never see again. All he'd never know about the little brother who had spent his life chasing after him, just trying to be known. He balled his hands into fists.

After Infinity Castle, the death of his brother and his everything, Sanemi tries to follow the last instructions Genya left for him. Giyuu, who understands exactly what it's like to lose your everything, and with some phantom pain of his own, tries to help him live on with the unthinkable. Taking care of the newly Kocho-less Butterfly Girls is a start; Sanemi is a skilled big-brother after all. As Sanemi and Giyuu fight through the pain of absence they realize they've found more in each other's presence than either was ready for.

Tomioka Giyuu feels empty, he feels as though he doesn’t deserve to stand next to the other hashiras who worked much harder than he did to be there.
His best friend and first love Sabito should be standing where he is now, he robbed him of that when Sabito saved him at final selection, if it wasn’t for him he would be alive.Giyuu debated ending his life multiple times, it wasn’t worth anything after all.
On a particularly hard night he almost went through with it, that was until he stopped and thought.‘What if I give myself one last chance to live..?’

His last goal being that he wanted to become friends with Shinazugawa Sanemi.
The last one was the one he wanted to complete the most, he had tried to befriend shinazugawa for a while now, following him around at the masters mansion after hashira meetings to try and strike up conversation, sadly it only ever ended up in an argument.Giyuu wanted to leave the earth with no regrets, that meant Befrending Shinazugawa, no matter how hard it was going to end up being.

Tomioka Giyuu has already written his ending. Every mission is a countdown, every sunrise borrowed time he never asked for. He carries the weight of the dead like stones in his pockets, resigning himself to repaying that debt the only way he knows how: by meeting the death he should have met years ago. He walks into battle like he's walking into the ocean: calm, purposeful, with no intention of coming back up for air.
Sanemi Shinazugawa wasn't supposed to notice. Wasn't supposed to care. But there's something about the way Giyuu takes hits he could dodge, the way his eyes stay distant even in victory, the way he speaks about himself like he's already a ghost. It pisses Sanemi off because he recognizes it; that quiet resignation of someone who's decided they don't deserve to be saved.
So Sanemi does something stupid: well, he tries. He picks fights to keep Giyuu sharp. Shows up uninvited. Watches his blind spots. And somewhere along the way, irritation becomes devotion. He's fighting not just demons but Giyuu's guilt, his conviction that he's already dead.
