Summary
After having his body burned, Mello still has to deal with the Kira case and Near's plans. He finds himself forced to participate in Near's terms and ends up having to deal with his feelings for him, who, strangely, seems to want him around. L is dead, it's impossible to deny Near's resemblance to him. The feeling of inferiority that arises within when he looks at his enemy and sees a perfect image of L is maddening, and it makes Mello's attraction to Near even more unbearable.
Still, bigheaded twit Near can't do everything by himself, the job needs to be done, and he's the best person to do it. If only he hadn't found out that Near planned on writing his name in the notebook.
