Summary
Tim Drake is a solitary creature, whether by necessity or by natural predisposition. But he’s good at being alone. He’s learned to enjoy his own company, to take solace in his own cognizance. Aided by the brisk air of Gotham’s night air and a thrilling sense of independence, Tim learns that some things feel more special when you get to keep them for yourself. Unaccompanied walks down the school halls and singular movie tickets and dinners-for-one aren’t so bad when he can entertain himself with his own thoughts.
Tim has become so good at being alone, he can almost pretend he isn’t desperate for the unconditional love and companionship that a soulmate would guarantee.
It would be nice, Tim thinks, to have someone in his life who actually wants him. Someone who won’t leave every chance they get. Someone who enjoys his presence instead of merely tolerating it. Someone for whom he isn’t an obligation.
Still his wrist remains blank.
Until it doesn't.

"As soon as Superboy woke up cured, he honestly thought he’d imagined seeing Match step into the pod. Surely his cells were being destroyed in his brain, causing him to hallucinate it all.
He was almost completely out of it when he saw Match walk up to the tube he was in, which already set off alarm bells in Superboy’s head, such as ‘He’s not dead!?’. From their last encounter at the Agenda’s headquarters, Superboy was sure Match was going to try to murder him the moment they locked eyes, even if the Super teen was already stuck in the green tube that was his deathbed. There were even a couple of times where he was sure he was about to, based on how frustrated and tense his doppelganger looked."

Superboy, in his short life, has experienced all kinds of fears-not being able to be who he was supposed to be, not being good enough, people hating him for existing, like he asked to be made, being too naive, medical phobias and people he loves almost dying on daily basic.
So yeah, he's very close friends with fearhe knows he's not the way he was made to be-the universe made that pretty fucking clear, but he's still a hero (no matter if that traitorous voice in the back of his head taunts him about that, the voice that sounds so much like her)
so why is he so afraid now?
OR:the fic of Kon having his organs non consensually removed and then getting raped by a clone who looks like his bestfriend (and maybe saved later if I’m feeling good)

Just because he couldn’t imagine any of the other Supermen—no, not other. Fake. They were fake Supermen. So nothing they did was Superman-y.
...Right.
Or: Superman’s death left a gap that everyone with a superpower or good heart was eager to fill. But only one of them was actually Superman. Or, as close as you were going to get. Closer than anyone else, at least. Also, only one of them was a teenager. But no one seemed to care about that as much.

“Ma!” He calls, the book of human anatomy one of those big picture versions, that show all the medical information of the insides, what each organ does, and where it’s placed in the body, “Pop!”
It’s been checked out of the school library this week during reading time, and Clark had picked the book out of pure curiosity, wanting to know more about everything. It was big and bright and colorful and had a lot of interesting facts.
The most interesting of course, being-

(not his farm. Never his). But he also wants to put Clark back together himself. He wants to hold and be held and he's so, so tired of fighting, of war, of restless dreams of clones piling over each other and suffocating him. He wants to take all the broken pieces of the strongest man on earth and squeeze until something whole comes out and he wants someone to do the same for him. He wants so badly to help, to be useful. Maybe that would save him.
It won't.
Ficlet set in the comic event "Our Worlds at War". There's references to Superboy #90-#91, Impulse #77-#78, Young Justice #35-#36-#37 and Superman #174. It's kind of confusing to understand without at least reading those issues, but you can always try.
