Though they had gotten a small lead, COBRA was difficult to track and powerful, and even with the Joe’s help it was still taking longer than anyone would like to track down that plane. It was possible they had bought off people to keep the plane’s whereabouts under lock and key, delete footage and erase traces of landings from databases. Or it was possible they’d flown the plane to some remote base somewhere.

When he was at his worst, they’d lied to him—not that he had been much better. All he’d ever done was lie to Tommy as well, Jiro was the same as them.
