She would have gotten onto him for picking something off of public property, it wasn’t his to take, he shouldn't have touched it, but he missed his mother's smile and hoped that maybe he would see it again if he tried hard enough.
He twirled the flower between his fingers, watching the petals spin and twist as if it were flying through the air, seeing how the color shifted as the sun hit it at different angles.

With the fall of Maruki's imperfect plan for a perfect reality, Makoto and Haru have been left with a bit too much time on their hands. With calm having finally returned to their lives, the pair are starting to wonder if the choices they made while their emotions were high and the Phantom Thieves were at large are right for them. Both desperate to speak to someone who can understand the stresses of approaching college and adult life, Makoto and Haru begin to spend more time together to find some answers. But meetups that were meant to do nothing more than offer the two a chance to vent will soon become so much more for the two girls.

To her eternal dismay, Futaba does not have every inch of the Kurusu household bugged.
It’s not something she’d ever ask Akira to help her set up, and she’s never set foot in the house, so logically it makes sense that her abilities would be so limited. If she could, she’d have cameras and microphones in every nook and cranny, able to watch every second of what goes on. She knows Akira downplays the situation for her, to try and keep her from worrying. She worries anyway.
Alas, she must suffice with merely being able to access his parents’ phones, along with his own. There are other bits and bobs of technology in the house, but none of them are as useful to her.
None of them would give her front-row seating to the text conversations they have about Akira. None of them would alert her to the fact that his mother had been snooping in his closet via pictures and chilling words.

He fishes an Alert Capsule out of his endlessly deep pockets, inspecting it between two fingers before deciding it’s sufficient. It’s a small oblong object, not dissimilar to an ammonia inhalant. He crushes the middle of the capsule with his thumb and forefinger, color flooding the previously white surface, quickly maneuvering his hand between the pointed beaks of Crow’s helmet and placing it under his nose.
Crow jerks back as if he’d been shot, flinching away from the offending ethanol-alcoholic scent, but has no other reaction.
Okaaay…

The return to the Laboratory on January 9th in search of rescuing Sumire goes a bit awry after an encounter with a Fafnir guarding the auditorium forces Akira and Goro to utilize their team attack.
The team attack in which Goro casts his special mental-shutdown-inducing spell on himself.
Akira's not sure what he expected with that one, in all honesty.
