It had been, admittedly, a while since she’d received a letter from him. Well, if you could count “two weeks” as a while, then yes. It had been a while since she’d received a letter from him.
Usually, Percy was like clockwork when it came to his letter writing. It was weird, how he could be so impulsive and random about everything but this. But every four days (or at the very most, a week) she had received a letter from him in his usual, messy, ADHD-fuelled scrawl, spelling mistakes and all (thank you, demigod dyslexia), and had read it with something akin to… hope? Fondness? Something that made her look forward to seeing him again once the summer arrived.
But this one was taking a while — a long while. She didn’t get why.

While it was something Percy wasn't too interested in, at first, when they get to 'the barn' and Annabeth shows him her old, not-so-secret hideout, it makes the trip well worth it.
