When Percy wakes back up in his dorm room in Yancy, on the fateful day of that field trip, he realizes something. This was a second chance. A chance to save those he never could, a chance to redo choices that ended in doom. But this world isn't the same as his old one, the Gods here are closer than he is used to and people at Camp aren't acting like they used to. But honestly? Percy thinks he can adapt to just about anything. So he sticks it out. With old and new allies by his side he hopes he can avoid saying goodbye too early and mold a path in the future where the dam fates finally leave him alone.

The first of the second-generation gods to be born, and solely with his father’s essence, as his father explored the sea, trying to sway immortal beings to join him in his siblings' fight to overthrow Perseus’ grandfather. Perseus was born solely with his father and the ocean.
However, he needed to right a wrong; he must ensure that Olympus is not destroyed and his children, the demigods, don't suffer because of the gods' foolish decision to try to prevent fate. He was ready to suffer the tragic fate of a Greek hero and fade if it meant that his grandfather doesn't come back to power.

Bruce's "child with a traumatic backstory" senses activate and Percy gets adopted. It's a nonlinear story, with half of each chapter taking place before the Second Gigantomachy, and half of them taking place after, when Percy returns to Gotham.
