Summary
The year is 1174. Mercedes, being homeless for the past 6 years and moving from church to church, is forced to take refuge in Konoha while her mother finds a permanent home for herself and her daughter. Hinata feel's broken and alone since her friends left the year before. Her loneliness becomes almost too much to bear until she meets Mercedes, a girl who's also lonely like Hinata is.
Naruto, wanting approval and acceptance from his peers, counts the days until he finally becomes a Genin and starts his path of becoming the Hokage.
This is a tale of four souls connecting in ways they would not know until years later, in the year 1180.

He’d been shown the truth of his actions, the error of his judgment. He had been given a chance to stare acutely into the width and breadth of his past and know, deeply and achingly, that it had been the wrong path to take.
“You…What?”
Hiashi stared back at his father, aware that he was pushing back against him for the first time in his life. Hinata had made a promise, one that she had brought to him. One that he intended to keep. “I have chosen someone for my nephew to marry,” he simply repeated it. “The Kazekage has already accepted the proposal.”

Wanting to be the one to shoot the start signal for #nejitenmonth2025, here is my tribute.
And yes, this is a rewrite of the conclusion to the 4th shinobi war arc. This time, Neji actually survives, having had one intense fight and confrontation with Obito, and honestly, THIS is the type of respect that he deserved, because let's be brutally honest: His death was not only pointless (not to mention, redundant, considering that he was meant to die once already, but Kishi had second thoughts), the way his sacrifice was treated afterwards, was pure disrespect, of the dirtiest capacity.
Can you believe, that the showrunners for "The Last", had planned, on honoring Neji's death, due to the sheer influence he had on Hinata's life, but then changed their minds and excluded him from the actual plot of the movie, "fearing, they might spoil anime watchers"? Because Neji canonically died in the manga, in 2012. But his death wouldn't get animated, until 2014, the same year, "The Last" came out, a few months later.
And just for this level of disrespect alone, out of sheer principle, his death is non-canon to me. It should be treated as such. Simple as that.
