Usually the Paladin has to go through things before they see the previous paladins, has to prove to each of the other souls in the lions body that they are worthy of their lions. But the Blue Paladins are about love and affection, about loyalty and trust, about being open and caring, so Lance sees Blaytz as soon as he’s in Blue.

Eri stares at him. “You.”
Deku laughs a little, even though he looks happy to hear it. “That’s very sweet,” he says, “but I meant out of everyone else.”
Oh. Eri considers this, but after what happened today she doesn’t really have to think about it. “Kacchan,” she tells him. She likes Kacchan because he’s nice and because he doesn’t treat her like she’s fragile and because he made her cookies. And she knows Deku likes him a lot, too, so she knows it’s a good answer.
“Do you want to know a secret, Eri?” Deku smiles again. “Kacchan is my favorite, too.”
Or Katsuki makes it his business to befriend Eri, and realizes he has a lot in common with this traumatized kid.
