Summary
In the aftermath of an adventure with Pomni that forced Jax to think about feelings she’s been repressing for years, the rabbit is left reeling with questions about what she’s supposed to do next. She’s survived in the circus for this long, after all, because she didn’t care about anything—not the adventures, not the others, and certainly not herself. How dangerous would it be to start now? How dangerous would it be to change?
…Does she even deserve to?

Summary
When a petty joke from the suggestion box gets twisted up into an entirely new adventure by Caine, the entire cast has their genders swapped for the day: the boys are girls, the girls are boys, and Zooble is—well, Zooble with a hue shift.
For most, it’s awkward, and maybe a little bit funny in places. All they have to do is coach each other through a series of whatever Caine’s ideas on stereotypical, 'gendered activities' are, and they’ll go back to normal.
For Jax, however…
It’s perhaps a bit of an eye-opener.
(Or: In a move that surprises everyone but makes complete sense in hindsight, it turns out that Jax actually is an egg that needs to be cracked open.)

Zooble knew he could just walk away right now. Back to her own room, Jax would probably thank her. He didn’t know why they weren’t walking back right now, turning on these @&#^%ing wobbly cartoon legs and pretending nothing was happening.
Of course she knew why. The sound of a little crying was always distinctly different from someone who was big, and of course he knew this and of course she had to at least check. Make sure everything was alright. Damn years of caregiving.
..
Jax is regressed and having a terrible time of it. Zooble, unfortunately, knows exactly what to do to help.

Summary
The exit was a lie. Freedom was an illusion. And the knowledge that Caine can reach inside their minds leaves a fear stronger than abstraction. Pomni doesn't know what to think. The tiny silver shred of hope she had always held onto was gone forever. Every thought feels suspect. Every emotion feels borrowed. When reality itself is artificial, how can she trust anything she feels?
Ragatha notices.
Always gentle, always patient, Ragatha becomes Pomni’s anchor in a place that refuses to stay still. The two begin to lean towards each other, keeping each other grounded when the world begins to tilt. They have each other, but there is a heavy question that makes them doubt everything they feel for each other:
