For five years she’s had to deal with something worse than any monster she’s ever faced, her grief. If you can call trying not to think about it and getting drunk off her ass when she does think about it “dealing with it”.
Avoiding it hasn’t worked. So when she gets the call that Steve is finally a dad, a trip to Hawkins brings everything crashing back all at once.
Nancy will have to confront things she hasn’t in five years and attempt to get closure from the guilt she’s carried just as long. Except, it’s much more complicated than that when she finds herself given a second chance to change the way things play out.

Summary
Robin "The Rebel" Buckley and Nancy "The Priss" Wheeler have been academic rivals since high school started last year and 1983 is no different. They've grown a mutual resentment of each other as they constantly compete for the top spot in Hawkins High.
They both however, can't get each other out of one another's heads. They both fascinate each other beyond belief but neither can fully figure out why. A mutual detention with each other and breaking of the rules will give both the chance to finally confront each other away from the prying eyes of others, and maybe even cause feelings to explode out.
