He walked down the hall passed Jonathan and El’s doors, each decorated to show their different personalities, to Will’s with different posters of bands he liked and some little painted blue and yellow stars Joyce and Hopper had said he could add, as he turned the door handle and opened it to see Will standing by the open window, with the late afternoon light gleaming through his chestnut colored hair as he stood in front of an easel painting what looked to be a birds nest with blue eggs in it, he turned around as he heard the door open and grinned at Mike as he entered the room they had been sharing. Mike thought that this was the most beautiful Will had ever looked, just smiling at him in his old Ramones t-shirt he reserved for painting and blue jeans covered in paint splatter and mismatched socks with the sun shining through his hair. He had to make an actual effort to pull his eyes away as he remembered why he had entered the room.

Summary
When Mike thought nothing could get worse, Fate took it up as a challenge.
But now, instead of being hunted by the Mind Flayer, Mike's own body is his biggest enemy. He gets diagnosed with cancer. But he's fine. He'll just deal with this on his own. His mom and Nancy are enough. He can deal with the whirlwind of doctors and needles and IVs and feelings as long as his friends are happy. As long as they don't realize that even after all they've been through, one of them is still dying.
But the upside-down isn't done yet. As Mike goes crazy over his feelings for Will, it strikes again. How is Mike going to survive this next attack, now by a human-turned monster named Vecna, when he is already fighting his own personal battle? But more importantly, how is Mike going to confront his feelings for Will in this chaos?
