With slightly less grumbling—soothed by the promise of Grian's cooking—he stumbled out of the nest and grabbed his cane, not bothering to put on a shirt as he made his way to the kitchen. He stopped right at the edge, though, when he realized that it wasn't just music that he had been hearing.
Grian had been singing. The song in the jukebox was already fading out, but another one quickly took its place—one that, of course, Scar knew very well.

It was a low blow, and from the slightly guilty look on his face he knew it, but he didn't make any moves to take it back.
She let out a shaky breath.
“Ok—fine. I'll schedule it. But don't blame me when it's not a fun trip.” She looked up to meet his gaze, “They're not good people, Zhongli. I—I don't want you to have to go through that.”
He walked closer to her, gathering her in his arms and pulling her close.
“I know, my treasure,” he assured, voice soft, “If nothing else, maybe meeting them will help me understand you better.”

Summary
Scar has found decent support for himself while working for G.H.O.S.T. He gets a steady paycheck, the insurance works well enough, and he's made good friends with people he finds himself able to rely on. He wouldn't say it's a perfect life, but it's good.
It's not like he uses half of that stuff anyway, though it's the thought that counts.Sure would be a shame if some random guy with an ego the size of Saturn came in and threatened to ruin all of that.

Izuku has plans for everything.
He plans out what to say to the cashier when ordering coffee, he plans out his homework before even opening his textbook. He has a whole ten-year plan for how he’s going to get into UA’s hero course and get his hero license fully quirkless. He plans for every wild, unlikely scenario he can think of because his anxiety gets so bad if he doesn’t go through every possible outcome, every way his life could landslide into disaster–– but Izuku never planned for this.
For once, he doesn’t have a plan and he doesn’t have time to think of one. All he can see is Yagi-san’s lined, kind face looking resigned as he stares down the villain in his shop. Yagi-san, who is the closest thing to a father figure Izuku has ever had.
Izuku doesn’t think. He just moves.
(Or: Izuku saves the number one hero, gets a hero license way earlier than anyone wanted, realizes that maybe hero society isn’t as great as he thought it was, and everything just kind of falls apart from there.)
