In a city that’s moved on from cathode rays and static screens, one washed-up CRT salesman is about to find his spark. All it takes? A little elbow grease, a second chance at life, and a Chihuahua-sized man with a bark bigger than his bite—and possibly rabies.
(This is basically a fic delving into big shot era Spamtenna, how they were before they met/how they set up the show/etc. It’s headcanon central. If you re-read a chapter and see some sentences were changed/typo’s were fixed then no you didn’t.)

IN LOVE WITH THE WRITING STYLE OF HOW THIS IS WRITTEN OH MY GOD???? HOW IT REFERENCES ACTUAL TV AND SPAM EMAIL IN THE NARRATION IS SO SO SO GOOD It's like actually perfect for darkners i swear. Also really love how spamton is written here because i personally just prefer the idea that Spamton has always talked/THOUGHT like that, he's not being censored or anything that's just how he works..

Tenna stands at the mountain's edge, feeling the sun shine completely on his pale white body. He hasn't felt the sun rise in so long...it felt sublime...albeit subliminal. He didn't think he'll be able to see it until now. To have the rays glisten against his chitin like it did years ago.
However, looking at the body in his lower arms, he knew humans don't last that long...or the fact that his beloved mailman presumably went to look for him only to die alone somewhere...thinking about him. He was always so stubborn...so much of a justice-seeking daredevil that he'd persist when it wasn't necessary. If he'd tried, that amount of determination will melt him on the spot!
And now...what became of him as they both looked at the edge of the universe together.
As strong as the human soul is...he knew a reunion wouldn't work if they were both alive.
...But why must it hurt so bad?
OR
After the barrier is broken, Tenna finds Spamton's body and buries it, waking the latter up.

He hooked a lazy finger around one. “What, these things? Well… we're all a puppet to our purpose, aren’t we?” As if in response, the threads went taut around his neck, forcing his chin unnaturally upwards. “Bet your strings are even tighter.”
Tenna swallowed hard. A million angry questions rattled his casing but his tongue stilled at the sight of the strings. They led Spamton back into the living room. Tenna slowly followed.
“Hey! That's enough!” Tenna finally found his voice, shakily forcing it out of his speakers. “You owe me some answers.”

“A message?”

It sounded ridiculous, such a whimsical phrase leaving Spamton’s mouth in his gruff tone. But Spamton’s smirk vanished as he spoke.

This is not about that.
This is, instead, about their friend they accidentally got killed.
2 Dead 2 Air is an AU that diverges from ecto-hazard's Dead Air AU where Tenna, when trying to hide Spamton's Blue Addison friend away, accidentally kills them instead. Specifically, the divergence point is at the end of this comic.
