“I love you, by the way.”
It’s said so casually, yet so quietly – with a far mumblier voice than usual. The sound of the television almost drowns out those words, but Susie’s fast enough to catch them.
And, as she does so, she finds that she has to take a moment or two to pause.
They what.
“What!?”
But Kris had never been one to follow through with what they say. They get worried and frustrated and angry at themself, and it all forces them to lock their feelings back away. Their cheeks fluster a deeper shade of red, and they stumble out what Susie considers to be the worst lie they’ve ever told. “N-Nothing.”
Susie & Kris get into a bit of a short argument.
