    “Don’t touch me!” he cried, voice strangled and thick with something heavy. A wash of shame flashed in his eyes and he turned away from Newt, his cheeks glowing red with guilt for a moment before they were swallowed by darkness.

    Newt's leg is giving him trouble.

    And that's an issue—just slightly, because Newt is touchy about his leg on a good day, but now, for some reason, he seems absolutely hellbent on avoiding Thomas's help at any cost, even if it means he has to limp around in pain all day.

    Thomas doesn't understand, and Newt only gives half-answers, bats him away, until he can't outrun the truth any longer.
