Summary
A high-pitch whistle cut into the night air, startling the village into silence. He had never known any dragon to make a noise like that. The explosion that followed was concussive, accompanied by a shockwave that nearly knocked Wilbur off his feet. His blood ran cold. In a heartbeat, everything changed. No longer was this an ordinary attack, because Wilbur had never heard the words night fury said with such fear during any attack in his lifetime.
“You five, here, now,” Sam commanded.
“Sam, I can help!” Techno said, as if in a trance.
“No. No. You are not, under any circumstances, going out there,” Sam ordered.
Behind them, a building went up in flames. Wilbur kept his eyes trained on Techno. Stuck in a silent argument, Wilbur pleaded silently with his brother, begging him to stay with the rest of them. His pleas were ignored, left as Techno turned on his heel, breaking into a run towards the fight.
Without thinking, Wilbur took after him. He ignored the shouts of Sam behind him. He refused to lose another family member, no matter how much they hated each other.

“I don’t have one,” Techno grumbled.
“Oh okay, so we’re lying then,” Tommy raised an eyebrow. “Everyone has fond memories, unless you’re a wrongun.”
“Who cares about memories? We’re only here to do our job and protect L’Manburg from the Greater Essempee.” Techno said, taking another sip of his drink.
“Seriously?” Tommy deadpanned. “We are in a random field, in buttfuck nowhere outside of fucking Logstedshire or something. It’s basically as far away from the Essempee as you can get while still in L’Manburg. I bet if I walked like twenty minutes that way I’d hit the Empire or something.”
“So you think that means we get to slack off? We’re here for a reason, not for fun.” Techno argued back.
“Trust me, nothing about this is fun,” Tommy grumbled, crossing his arms defensively.

“No,” He repeated. The world slowly filtered back into Shoyo’s vision until suddenly Kageyama was right in front of him. “You don’t get to come in here and mess everything up.”
“Shut up,” Shoyo spat, his knees shaking with rage or exhaustion, he wasn’t sure. His head was pounding, the black spots growing rather than fading as his breathing sped up. It felt like worlds were colliding in his mind, overlapping and yelling until his entire head, scratch that, his entire body felt like it was filled with static.
“My sets were fine. My sets were perfect!” Kageyama said, taking another step closer. They were nearly eye to nose now. He couldn’t see anything around them. Nothing existed outside of their eyes. Kageyama’s finger met Shoyo’s chest, jabbing him hard.
“There’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to hit them.”
“What have you been wasting all your time on for three years?”
“If you can’t even do that, then why are you here?”

Sukuna died and got reincarnated in a world where curses don't exist.
