Summary
Mike's ready to make up for lost time now that he's officially boyfriends with Will, but El keeps getting in the way, monopolizing Will's time because of "sibling bonding" and how it's her sisterly right to interrupt their couple time. Will doesn't mind it, he likes to spoil El, but Mike can't stand sharing Will's affection/attention. It's a friendly war between Will's boyfriend and his sister, to be considered "the favorite".

"Tell him, Will." El urged and Will sighed, surrendering in their silent conversation of gestures and expressive eye contact that Mike hadn't yet decoded.
"Tell me what? Tell me things!" Mike immediately demanded, impatience abounding.
Will's face seemed rather guilty, a little sheepish even as El had a look of pure arrogance directed Mike's way. She's only looked like that when the Party defeated Vecna once and for all.
"El told me she thinks you monopolize me too much, and that she misses spending alone time with me, like back in Lenora." Will partly explained, not meeting Mike's searching eyes.

Summary
On a midnight cookie jar run, Holly stumbles upon Mike sneaking Will inside the house past Hopper's curfew, and while the Wheeler parents are asleep. She witnesses something she wasn't meant to see and drops the bomb at Mike the next morning during breakfast.

Mike's smirk falls, brows shooting up under his curly bangs at the question.
“Yeah, actually I did.”
“What was your test on again? The one you were in study group for with friends?” Holly plays it up, eyes skyward in thought, and then landing on Mike knowingly, her lips curving in a simper. “Chemistry? Anatomy?”

It was like a switch had been flipped in him. His limbs were moving of their own accord, and now that he’d started, he couldn’t stop. That tiny, human voice of reason in his head—perhaps the true version of him, whatever that meant—was drowned out by the rushing of blood in his ears. Summary

They don’t care how many laws they’ll break, how many lies they’ll tell, as long as Will gets to stay with them. Tensions rise between the Party over how long they can keep this a secret, but Mike knows more than he lets on about their horrific situation.
