so so good i dont have enough words in the dictionary to praise this
it's a whole character study for every character esp yqy if you like yqy this is your happy day he never shuts up (affectionate)
this writer weaves things so well it's like they're waxing poems with each line
absolute gem i'm so thankful to have stumbled upon this through a tumblr post!!
the prose is immaculate i'd love to read more of their writing it's honestly inspiring
oh and the narrating is so good and in character even to the point of being similar to the actual svsss it's admirable
this got me going between yqy/sy and yqy/sj
definitely wasn't expecting yqy and sj to be the focus but it was a delight to see and even though sj isn't necessarily a good person who you'd want to associate with irl
the way he was wrote (including everyone else) makes them so real you can't help but adore and feel empathy for them!
except luo binghe he should fall off a cliff and i say that in a conversational neutral tone 😆

Something smells so good. Wei Ying closes his eyes, already feeling sleepy, and tries to identify where the scent is coming from. He turns his face to one side and then the other, chasing it, until his nose touches Lan Zhan’s cheek.
He pulls back quickly, not freaking out, because it’s fine. He touched Lan Zhan’s cheek with his nose, and Lan Zhan smells really fucking good, and they’re lying down together on a very soft bed because Lan Zhan is too drunk to let go of him, and Lan Zhan is gay but Wei Ying isn’t, and it’s fine.
Wei Ying swallows hard and closes his eyes again.

Wei Ying helps Lan Zhan out of an uncomfortable situation, and they grow close right away, becoming instant friends. To Lan Zhan, they become instant something else. With time, they only get closer and closer, and Wei Ying is forced to deal with his own feelings about Lan Zhan, and his perception of his own sexuality.

There are any number of things that Lan Xichen might be about to say. He might be about to say, “A-Yao, will you cook breakfast while I bathe in the river?” But then, there is a gravity to his tone, and a flush on his cheeks. So perhaps it will be, “A-Yao, will you do that thing with your tongue?” Or even more thrillingly, “A-Yao, will you teach me how to do that thing with your tongue?”
Lan Xichen does not say any of these things. He says, “A-Yao, will you marry me? If we both survive the war, will you marry me?”

Lan Xichen proposes before the war. Somehow, through the property of transitivity, Wei Wuxian becomes Meng Yao’s problem to solve.

their writing...!!felt what senku has been through, it must be difficult....
love the interpretation of how he fared after what happened, and how that conflicts with his interest in science and just wanting life to go back to normalboth of his and gen's mannerisms are fun to see, he's smart, conflicted and too direct for his own good whereas gen is as elusive as mist and it really shows in all of his appearances
plus the way he's not in-tone with his feelings (mood) which makes him an unreliable narrator and how the narrating is paced is immaculate
really thankful to have read this today <3

“So what’s in it for you, mentalist?”
“I get to listen.” Gen stared back, too mesmerized to realize his confession until a few moments later, when Senku suddenly chuckled softly and laid down once again.
“You like to know things, I get it. That’s why we’re the same. If I was into psychology, I’d probably try to get into other people’s brains too. Unfortunately, I’m too busy with my own at the moment.” He paused, seemingly hesitating before speaking again.
“Thank you, Gen.”
Gen smiled softly, thanking the stone gods that the dozing-off Senku was so left-brained, and cursing his own right-brain for being hopelessly sentimental.
