Arthur was in pain. He'd been in pain a lot over the last year. Running from monsters or men, he'd sustained a lot of injuries.
But those injuries were simple. Visible. Most were easy to deal with if you knew what you were doing.
Arthur didn't know what he was doing anymore. He didn't know how to deal with this.
