Summary
Buck dreams of sirens.
They echo through sterile white hallways that stretch too long, lights buzzing overhead, the smell of antiseptic thick in his nose. The lab is wrong—too quiet, too clean, glass walls reflecting him back at himself in fractured pieces. He tries to run, but his legs feel heavy, unresponsive, like he’s wading through water.

Summary
Buck has gotten good at not being noticed.
That’s what he tells himself, anyway, as he wipes down the already-clean kitchen counter for the second time. The rag slips from his fingers and he has to stop, bracing himself against the sink until the room settles. -

Summary
Buck has been a guide since he came online at twelve years old. His parents disinterest taught him that he couldn’t rely on anyone but himself. He kept his empathy hidden when he left home, but the 118 made him feel safe. Safe enough to open the door to his empathy a crack, just enough to help without making what he was obvious.

Summary
The world had gone quiet and still.
Danny Williams had always hated quiet. It meant something was wrong — a lull before the next gunfight, the split second before a perp made a run for it, the breath he’d always held before bad news. But this quiet was different. It stretched on and on, day after day, thick and heavy, pressing against the walls of the house and the inside of his chest until he could barely breathe.

Summary
The first time Buck heard Bobby’s voice, he thought he was already dead.
The world had gone strangely still around him, as if the chaos of the rescue had been switched off. One second there was the scream of metal, the thunder of collapsing concrete, the crackle of fire; the next, silence. He’d been thrown against the floor, pinned under a heavy beam, breath stolen from his chest. Pain radiated through him like fire, sharp and heavy at once.
And then—
“Easy, kid. I’ve got you.”

Summary
PS: Prompt is related to the events of The Long Game, so there will be spoilers for the plot of that book!
_______
After Shane and Ilya are outed in the events of The Long Game, Montréal and Ottawa play seven games against each other in the Eastern Conference.
The Centaurs still love their captain, of course. The Voyageurs, however, are not so united.
_______
A.K.A - Five times Shane’s team was an asshole to him, the one time Ilya got to do something about it, and the obvious humiliation ritual that is the Centaurs playing a game against a post-Hollander era Voyageurs.

Unfortunately, whatever is going on between Firefighters Buckley and Diaz is a much more interesting story.

Taylor is filming a documentary at the 118. Cue The Office style narrative where everyone knows that Buck and Eddie need to be together and they make eye contact t with the camera to make their points of the BuckandEddie of it all.

Summary
Having his first kiss with a man was not on Eddie's 2024 bingo card. But then again, neither was having his parents steal his son, or having to deal with the startling revelation that he was in love with his best friend (who for some reason can't stop getting hurt). If he expected a quiet time in El Paso he really should have known better. He thinks Frank would be a little proud of him though, he's never been so in touch with his feelings.

or
A fix it, where Eddie fights to figure out who he is at his core, makes up with (and comes out to) his son and takes care of a certain firefighter who (temporarily) loses his ability to hear when a call goes wrong.
