Summary
Jason leans back further on his hands as the police cars pull away onto the road. Turning his face towards the sky, he thinks about how he wanted to shoot someone with real bullets instead of rubber yesterday. How he wanted to throw a bomb into the home of a child-trafficker a few weeks ago. How he want, always wants, to snap the necks of all the rapists he sees on the streets. He likes to blame it on the Lazarus Pit, but he knows now, it must just be the way he is.
It’s no surprise that he failed today.

The clock ticked to 2:09 AM, and Kaveh was only half awake. He padded out of the office only to come face to face with Alhaitham still strewn upon the couch. Kaveh gazed at him thoughtfully, and before he knew it his feet had carried him to the sofa opposite his roommate.
It was interesting, Kaveh thought, that a man so flippant towards art could appear so beautiful.

It starts after the Sports Festival, the comments about him being a villain.
To Katsuki it feels like a stab in the gut, and in his mind he sees Deku hunched over, his middle school uniform steaming with explosions. He remembers the conversation between Deku and IcyHot, and he notices the disturbing similarity between the disdain the aloof boy gives the blonde and his father. He remembers how that hatred had dimmed during the tournament, Halfie’s arm and gaze dropping simultaneously. He remembers how it felt like time had slowed, his explosion afterwards big and bright and furiously sad.
He hadn’t understood why he had to be chained up.
He doesn’t understand why people call him a villain.
(He was, is, and will always be a hero. )

A Cavalry Captain walks into a bar and immediately slams a few thousand mora on the counter.
“Give me however much this’ll buy,” he says, and quite frankly, he looks horrendous. So much so it’s a bit strange, actually, Diluc thinks as he bends to pick up the coins that’ve toppled onto his feet in the process.
For one, he smells something between a ditch and a river. Probably both, given he also happens to be half caked in mud and various splatterings of bruises, and the lot of it seems to purple under the warm tavern lamplight as he smacks his forehead against the wood, "I don't care what, just make it strong."
The bottle of dandelion wine goes clunking back to the shelf, "Fire-water mixer?"
"Perfect."
