Summary
“I swear by Xisuma, King of the Void and first of the Fae, and by the elders that made me, that I will protect and serve you, First of the Watchers, until my life is given in your stead or you release me of my oath. I present to you the feather upon which my oath is sealed.”
Gently, almost reverently, Grian takes the feather from Skizaelim’s hands. The young Fae is looking at it like it’s his entire world. “I accept your oath, Champion.” Grian glances at the elder Fae and smirks. “But I think I’ll just call you Skizz.”
Or, the birth and death of Skizaelim, First of the Order of Champions, and the rise of Skizz, protector of a tribe entirely his own.

Summary
Impulse hasn’t felt warm in a really long time.
So, he works. Impulse moves through the motions of mercenary work like a machine, unfeeling and detached. His brain stays blessedly empty, but he always feels an unending cold in his chest, no matter how many blankets he buries himself under or how close to a campfire he gets. He still gets that orange underglow to his scales, but it’s dull and small – not as explosive as it used to be. But Impulse doesn’t have the time to worry about it. He throws himself into his work, until a contract brings him home to Evwud.
Or, Impulse hasn't been warm in a while. It only takes a little spark to change that.

Eovela was born for great things. At least, that’s what her mother always told her. She was born on the hottest day of the year, when the sun was shining its brightest at the apex of its arc. It was a sign from the gods, her mother said, that Eovela was meant to be the star of the Tribe of the Sun.
Eovela wonders, now, if that is still true.
Or, Eovela was titled Rising Star from birth. She falls, instead.

Summary
Suddenly, Gem’s head shoots up. Her pupils are blown wide in fright, and she’s staring off into the trees. Skizz and Impulse both look up in alarm. “Gem?” Impulse whispers, glancing between her and where she’s looking. Impulse is confused, it’s written all over his face, but Skizz can feel something too. Something dangerous is approaching. Not a magical type of dangerous, but still dangerous in its own right. The forest is silent.
Then, through the trees– “Eovela, my dear!”
Or; names hold power. No one knows that better than Fae.

He’s gotten very familiar with this stupid cell. There’s been a dripping noise behind him since he got here, and Skizz wishes he had the energy to get up and make it stop. But he doesn’t. So Skizz lay there, staring at the bars of this stupid cell, wishing he had the strength to stop the stupid dripping, and mentally urging Gem and Impulse to hurry up with the rescue Skizz knew was coming.

Summary
Someone comes barrelling into their midst, a whirlwind of pink and red. Whoever it is is moving so fast that Gem can’t get a good look at them, but she can see the double bladed battle axe their wielding, shimmering a faint purple. In their wake, black feathered arrows start raining down on the bandits from the forest. The archer has good aim – none of them hit Impulse, Pearl, or Skizz.
The biggest shock for Gem, though, comes when a volley of golden fire just like hers blasts into the leader.
Or, Gem and her friends get in a bit of trouble. Some strangers step in to help.
Or, or, who said this was only a Hermitcraft AU >:)

Summary
“Shit, shit, shit,” Impulse whispers, slinging his crossbow across his back. There are ten guards left. Four at Skizz, two at Pearl, and one at Gem. There’s a siren wailing, too, so more are bound to be on the way. Impulse whines softly, eyebrows crinkling in dismay. “What do I do?” Impulse looks back down into the square, just in time to see Gem’s glamour shatter in a shower of golden sparkles.
The guard’s face sharpens and he grabs one of her antlers, pulling her head down so it’s bowed. Gem’s wings flare weakly and she tries to tug away, but he pulls sharply and she goes still. Anger flares sharply, adding to the fire already under his skin, and Impulse is lost to his wrath.
Or, Impulse would like to rage

Summary
A bolt of what looks like black lightning slams into the dirt, scorching the area where they had just been standing.
Not the warmest of greetings, but not surprising either.
Gem bares her teeth, raising her wings and looking up towards the house. Pearl is perched on the railing, her sword leveled at a shadowy figure standing in front of the door. The whole world seems to freeze as the shadow’s head tilts. It lifts its hand slowly, pointing a finger at Pearl, and then draws it diagonally across its body. A rip appears and splits across his body. Dark, voidic tentacles erupt from the rip, grab hold of Pearl and yank her in. The rip closes behind her.
“Pearl!” Gem screams.
Or, the man of the forest did not want to be found.

Summary
In the midst of chaos, Tommy will always find the opportunity to make it worse. That’s something that Techno has learned the longer he travels with these two strange men.
He has to be thankful, of course. He was a little runt of a Piglin, stuck in a Bastion that didn’t really want him, half-starved and ill with rot. And yet, Phil picked him up out the Nethervoid without so much as a second thought. So, of course, Techno had to be thankful.
He could still be a little annoyed when Tommy made hard things worse.

Summary
Pearl is ten years old when she learns that the marks on her wings are not good.
Before she turned ten, before she really got any feathers, her life was good. Her parents weren’t perfect, but they weren’t mean either. A bit distant, a bit cold, but they supported her, taught her, fed and clothed her. Preened her wings and ran fingers through the downy fluff.
Then, that fluff fell away and her feathers started growing in. And things changed.

Summary
The temple had always been a special place to Gem.
Gem wasn’t very popular among the other young Fae in her tribe. She was the daughter of an Elder, coddled beyond belief by her parents, unprepared for a life of hardship. She knew how to fight with a sword and dagger, but so did all the other young Fae. And they had something she didn’t – control.
So, the temple became a place of solace. It was forbidden to use solar magic in the temple, for fear that it would overload and shatter the Solar Gem. That rule became Gem’s lifeline. The temple became her home. Her safety. The one sacred place in a life of bullying.
Then, her Tribe had banished her. And she’d lost the one place she knew would keep her safe.
Or, she thought she had.
