Summary
Four years after the events of X-Men: First Class, Charles Xavier finds his X-Men on the losing side of their continuing battle with Erik’s Brotherhood. Azazel and Mystique have a child in secret and, unwilling to raise Kurt in the midst of Erik's war, they give him up to Charles to raise at his school for the gifted. He agrees to do so, on the condition that they visit their son regularly. This leads to tenuous contact between the Brotherhood and the X-Men outside of the battlefield for the first time in years, and both Xavier and Magneto realize that the lines dividing them are not as clear-cut as they previously thought.

Summary
Ten years ago, Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr got a divorce. It was a long, nasty, dramatic process. It was eventually settled that Charles would keep the Westchester mansion, Erik the Chicago penthouse, they’d swap the Hamptons summer house every year, and the London townhouse as well as the Italian vacation home would go into a trust for the children. The children would spend the school year with Charles, then would go with Erik during the summer and most holidays.
It was all planned out so meticulously, leaving no t’s uncrossed and no i’s undotted, that Charles and Erik haven’t seen each other even once in the last decade. They never accidentally bumped into each other at a kid’s band concert, or school play, sports game, not even at each high school or college graduation.
Then Alex decides to go and get married, and the family all has to get back together to celebrate his union with Hank McCoy.
