Summary

Alastor, the Radio Demon, a creature with malicious intent, static, and a shadow with a smile too big to be believed, answers that call.
Bound by an unholy contract, Alastor observes from the periphery of Lucifer's "peaceful" existence as a single father managing an old toy store, fighting to survive under the weight of his depression and fatigue. However, what starts as a straightforward observation quickly turns into fascination. The demon, who used to eat souls for entertainment, is drawn to human frailty because of Lucifer's angelic looks, his soft voice, and his unwavering hope despite pain.
Protection becomes possession and love becomes peril. When Lucifer begins to notice the strange warmth hidden behind Alastor's smile, the human learns to his horror that love can be more damning than any curse.

“Running away again, Mr. Coward?” Vox murmured, his low, electric voice far too close to Alastor’s ear, tickling as it seeped into his body like a direct electric discharge straight from the source. The dial demon clenched his jaw, irritated by how easy it was for Vox to read him while inside his mind. Even in a dreamlike form he was still annoying as hell, pun intended.
“I’m. Not. Running,” he replied through clenched teeth, but his accelerated pulse betrayed him. Vox laughed again, calmly, like he did every day since he had kept him as his prisoner. Spinning him in his hands, as if they were a couple dancing under the rain.
Vox smiled, tilting his head with a commanding tone slipping from his mouth. “Then stay here with me.”

"¿Vas a huir otra vez, Señor Cobarde?" murmuró Vox, su voz baja y eléctrica demasiado cerca del oído de Alastor, haciendo cosquillas cuando se filtró en su cuerpo como una descarga de electricidad directa de la fuente. El demonio del dial tensó la mandíbula, molesto por lo fácil que le resultaba a Vox leerlo estando dentro de su mente. Incluso en una forma onírica seguía siendo molesto como el infierno, valga la redundancia.
"No. Estoy. Huyendo." respondió entre dientes, pero su pulso acelerado lo traicionaba. Vox volvió a reír tranquilamente, como todos los días desde que lo tenía como su prisionero. Dando una vuelta con él en sus manos, como si fueran una pareja bailando bajo la lluvia.

Rather than lose his daughter who is determined to protect their home, Lucifer offers himself in place to keep her safe.
