The story centers on an evil, mutated sorcerer that the turtles and Splinter try to stop from destroying the city.
However, the villain accidentally casts the wrong spell on Michelangelo, sending him twenty years into the future, where mutants are public enemies, and the city is in ruins.
It's a grim outlook for humanity, especially for Mikey's friends and family. The future versions of his brothers have changed profoundly, and the family is torn apart after they believed Mikey had died.
Now, the villainous sorcerer rules New York City with an iron fist.
It's up to Mikey to help his brothers defeat the villain, return to his own timeline, and save the future before it's too late.
