Summary
When Thorin's rule as King Under The Mountain comes into question 13 years after Erebor was reclaimed, Fíli alongside Ori step up to assure their restless kinfolk of the future of their reclaimed kingdom by offering to marry and produce the next in line to the Throne Under The Mountain.
While having known each other since they were pebbles, both Fíli and Ori will realize they have a lot to learn if their nascent friendship and arranged marriage have a chance of making it at all.
Can love grow amidst duty and remain, or was their idea all for naught?

Thorin sighs and his hand finally pulls away from Bilbo’s hair.Bilbo stares at his face and only just manages not to whine at the loss of warmth. (“It was the injury talking. Not me” he tells himself) close. Too close.
Then the words register and the hobbit sputters because how dare Thorin act as if Bilbo was being unreasonable.
“You left me.” The face Thorin makes is almost effective enough to make Bilbo cower.
“You left, Bilbo. In the dead of night. For food.”
“I was hungry.” Bilbo does what he never thought he’d be able to without thinking of his father’s disappointed eyebrow— he grumbles.
“I would’ve come if you had asked.” Thorin answers gruffly. This time he actually sounds offended. Thorin Oakenshield. Offended because Bilbo did not allow him to partake in a side quest for midnight snacks.

Summary
What begins as Ori only intending to share a bed roll with Fíli for warmth one night, eventually turns into the acquaintances becoming curious about each other after, then falling in love over the course of the quest despite others wishing they would just leave each other be.
Meanwhile, Thorin is doing his best to be a good example for his eldest sister-son and not act on the urge to let himself be wrapped around one specific Hobbit Omega's fingers. However, he fails spectacularly.
The rest, as some say, is history.

Summary
Thorin's uprooting his entire family and resettling them into some random little town for his promotion. That's where he finds one Bilbo Baggins, a pretty little thing he's determined to ignore. Bilbo is used to being ignored, but he always gets what he wants in the end, and now he wants Thorin.
Nori ran away from the stupid little town he grew up in. He doesn't need his brothers anymore, doesn't need anyone anymore. Until he can't deny just how shitty his boyfriend is and this place feels just like the cage home was. So he goes back home and tries to fit back into a puzzle that never changes.
Ori has friends, of course he does, they just don't care much for him out of school. That is until some random kid moves in during senior year and decides he's the most interesting thing in town. Why can't Kíli just leave him alone to his homework? And why does his older brother have to be so pretty? Maybe, just maybe, going out and doing things isn't so bad.

"It started with a game, as most things did whenever Fíli and Kíli were involved.
The first time Ori found a piece of parchment tucked into his satchel, he immediately recognized the script; it was Fíli’s shakier penmanship, writing out a joke that was admittedly a bit funny. He found it while he was rummaging in his bag in the middle of class one day while Lord Balin was chalking some information on the board in front of him.
Ori let out a chuckle, and then glanced over at Fíli, who grinned at him. He felt a bit of heat rush to his cheeks, as he pushed the paper back inside, then grabbed out his extra quill tip which was what he had been looking for all along.
They were under the Blue Mountains, and it was that day, where a tradition of sorts was born."

Dori's 20's don't seem to be going to plan. He's a senior in college at a frat party and then he's waking up to a phone call from his mom's husband in some guy's room that's certainly not his own. What could this man even want? And then just a few years later Dori finds himself living with the same guy he slept with that night happy as he could be living so close to home. Then his phone rings again, his mom's husband's contact filling up the screen and bringing joy to his life for a second time. His home with Bifur is filled with life when the third call comes, and this time it isn't from the man that had changed everything twice before. He doesn't even look to see who it is. He doesn't know the voice. But in the end, it changed everything one final time.
Or three times Dori gets a phone call about his family in his 20's.
