As he tries to figure out what he'll do with the rest of his life Dean and a doctor suggest he take OxyContin.
Grieving while in crippling pain is definitely over kill.
Slowly Sam doubles, then triples, then more than quadruples how much he takes over the years.
But he’s not an addicted. The pills just help ease the pain as he navigates a return to a life on the road with his brother.
He shifts to coke when his Oxy stash runs dry. But, again, he’s not a drug addict. He just needs a little chemical push to get him into the right head space.
His transition to heroin was pretty fast after that.
And Wow! Why didn’t he take this sooner? It numbs all that pain and disappointment faster and better than the pills and blow ever could.
Now he spends most of his time high.
Okay, maybe… he DOES have a problem.
He can stop and get clean anytime, right?
But before he does, Sam just needs one more hit.
